Tatiana: It's Bailey's birthday this week. I asked Mom what she was going to give her, and Mom said she has no idea. So, I said I would ask all my cat pals for suggestions!! Bailey isn't into treats, and doesn't play much, but she still likes to race around the kitchen with her toys now and then.
Also, Bailey has a (gasp!) vet visit on Wednesday. She has a fat lower lip, and Mom wants to get it checked out. Bailey or I will post afterwards to keep you all updated.

Tortitude!!!!
As you all know, Tatiana is a Tortie. Her coloring is a mix of brown, grey & peach. She has beautiful green eyes. Does she have what is called "Tortitude"?
The definition from Wikipedia: Among cat owners there is considerable talk about tortoiseshell cats having a personality set apart from other colorations. This is referred to as "tortitude". Tortoiseshell cats are said to be strong-willed, fiercely independent, hot-tempered and very possessive of their owners. They are also said to be more vocal and likely to hiss, meow loudly or purr strongly to make their needs known. Calico cats are also said to have these traits but to a lesser extent.
Tatiana is a pretty sweet & sociable cat. Mom doesn't think she has as much tortitude as some other Tortis she has met. But, Tatiana can be stubborn, and is definitely possessive of her owners. She really doesn't like that there are other furkids in the family to take the attention away from her. She tolerates it though, at least!
Tortitude can be viewed as a negative purrsonality trait, while others love it! Some owners like a good challenge or even consider it as the cat having a lot of character. That's how Mom sees Tatiana, plenty of character. And, yes, Tatiana does talk, chirp, grumble, trill & squawk. And, she is a purr machine and loves to make biscuits (kneading with her paws).
Whether Tatiana has tortitude or not, we love her!!!

Mom, Stop Screaming
Mom came home today and when she opened the door, the dog and Tatiana were there to greet her. Mom said "Where's Bailey?". You see, I am always by the door when Mom comes home. Always. ALWAYS.
Mom walked down the hall, calling for me, but did not find me. "Bailey, where are you? Where's my Bailey Girl?". Mom was getting a little worried. I am always at the door. ALWAYS. Mom told the dog to find me. He did nothing.
Then. Mom walked into the kitchen. There I was, lying down, looking up her. Looking smug. Mom said "Bailey, are you ok? What's wrong?". Then. Mom looked beside me and saw it. She thought it was one of our many toys. The ears looked rounder than she remembered though. Then, she noticed the tail. Mom said she pretty much froze in her spot, realizing I had caught a mouse.
YUP, I caught a mouse! Mom started screaming and ran out of the house. She really did, I'm not kidding. The dog looked very confused. Tatiana went to look for her, and saw her texting Dad, telling him about the mouse and "TO GET HOME NOW."
Mom did come back inside. She kept screaming if Tatiana or I went near the mouse. Why was she screaming?? I did a good thing!
Dad finally came home, got a box, and took the mouse away. Why did he do that? That was my trophy to show off to everyone. I looked around for it afterwards, but it was gone.
Hey, maybe I"ll find another one!
(You better, NOT, Bailey!!!).

Baily Needs Her Forever Home
Baily is a gorgeous Persian with Torti coloring. She was brought to Wayside Waifs when her owner was dying. Animal Control brought her in, so unfortunately, there wasn't any information on Baily's personality. Being a Torti, she does have a fiesty personality at times. She is also all 4 paws declawed, so has no way to defend herself by using her paws. She likes to have someone nearby to hang out with, and does enjoy being petted, but on her terms. She will let you know when she has had enough. She needs an experienced cat owner, someone that can easily read her signals. She is quite content to just have you in the same room. When she wants attention, she will gladly headbutt your hand. Short petting sessions seem to be what she prefers. She can be playful, but is not overly exuberant about it. She is in foster care while waiting for that perfect person to take her home with them.
You can learn more about Baily by clicking on her name below. If you can not adopt Baily, please share this information along to help her find her forever family. Thank you!

Sharing
We do not share most things. Once in awhile, to give Mom some exercise, we will curl up together. This makes Mom go running for the camera. Last week, we decided we had been slacking in our motivational moments for Mom and totally surprized her by sharing the ledge in front of the window.

Tatiana's Vet Visit
Tatiana went to the vet last week for her annual checkup. The vet said if he didn't know that she was 8 yrs old, he would have thought she was only 5 yrs old! Tatiana was very well behaved, and was allowed to roam around his office for a few minutes before hopping back into her carrier. Good girl, Tatiana!!

Two Cats Are Better Than One!
Way to go, MOM, for missing Wayside Waifs Wednesday! Sheesh, she has no excuse, so now we are trying to make up for her laziness/forgetfulness. We know Mom loves all the kitties at Wayside though, so I guess we'll let it slide THIS TIME.
So, we are going to feature 2 pairs of cats that need to go home together! Did you know having 2 cats is better than one? Yes, it is true!! Even though we tolerate each other, we play together and once in awhile can be spotted curled up together. We keeps each other company! And, we torment the dog too, bwa hahahaha.
Our first dynamic duo is Mini Mouse & Velvet. Velvet is the black cat, and Mini Mouse is the Torti. These 2 are littermates and are very bonded to one another. They get along fine with other laid back cats, as these 2 can be quite shy at first. But, they are very friendly and love to get attention. They have been waiting to go home for a very long time. To learn more about them, please click on their photo.
Little Grey & Sparky came from the same home. They are having a hard time adjusting to being in a shelter environment and are still quite shy. Sparky is a little more outgoing. Grey prefers a quiet area, and would prefer you to speak quietly to her as well. They are both gorgeous cats, and would be so much happier in a home with a loving family. To learn more about them, please click on their photo.

Busy Day So Far!
It's good to be a cat, I tell ya! Our days are just sooooo fun-filled, it's ridiculous. This morning we mades sure we woke Mom up bright and early. What business does she have sleeping in her bed while we wants breakfast. If we could get it ourselves, we would. Hey! I wonder if she would consider just leaving our food out for us? Nah....She used to do that, then Bailey gained weight. Way to go Bailey!!! The dog would just eat it anyway and that would makes us mad!
Finally, Mom got up, but boy, she takes her time in getting to the kitchen. We just follow her around, get in her way, try to trip her, block her. She keeps telling us if we would get out of her way, we would be fed faster, but we don't believe her.
It's still early in the day, but we've already eaten (finally!), ran around the house annoying the dog and each other. Took a few cat naps, spent time on the lookout for yummy birds (we are indoor kitties). Now it's snoozville again until lunch time. Yeah...we get 4 small meals a day. 3 more hours to go!!!

Clicker Training for Cats??
Uh oh...Mom's been looking at cat training videos today. What do you thinks that means?? She is convinced cats CAN be trained. Humph!! We wills have to work extra hard to prove her wrong! Cat power!!! And, what on earth is a clicker?? I hope it's some kind of treat at least. Maybe she said cricket, that would be a tasty nom nom. Crunchy. Yeah...we like crunchy.
Any of you cats out there, are you trained?? We don't even know what that means! Oh wait. The dog said being trained is being told what to do. Wha????? We don'ts like that!! We do things our own way, meow.
Mom just came by and saw what we waz typing. Said she is gonna try to train Tatiana to stop smacking us at mealtime. That might be kinda nice. Oh wait, now she says she is gonna train Bailey to not wail at mealtime. Geez, she is gonna take all our fun away!
By the way, Bailey is feeling much better now! Yay!

What is Snow?
Do any of you cats know what snow is? Mom and Dad keeps talking about it and they don't sound happy about it at all. They said they have enough of it, but we don't see it anywheres!! But, we think they are going to go get some more of it. Apparently, the dog will like it, so it's probably something we won't wants! When Mom and Dad get it, we will try to post a picture of it in case you don't know what it is either.
